jaysandwich: 110/365 - Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki) by Mamoru HosodaWolf Children is narrated mostly by Yuki, who tells the story of her mother who fell in love with a Wolf Man and gives birth to her and her brother, Ame. After the Wolf Man’s mysterious death, Hana must raise her children on her own with what little the Wolf Man had saved up for them to live off of.This movie comes from the director of Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, so there isn’t much I can say about the animation other than what has been previously said about this company (It’s great). It really downplays the whole werewolf aspect in favor of a more honest story of a mother raising her two children who just so happen to be werewolves. Children are basically little monsters anyways. At almost 2 hours, this film summarizes Ame and Yuki’s upbringing into a world where they will never be a part of because of their nature. It run’s a little long, but I have a more fond appreciation of stories where the story takes its time to make you not think of what the whole point is. If I had to say any negative thing’s about this film, it wouldn’t hurt it as a whole. People expecting this film to be as cool as Summer Wars or as Sci-Fi as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time might feel disappointed, but the simplicity and love this film has make’s it one of my favorite’s of Hosoda today.

Seslendirme ekibinde ise birçok anime filme sesiyle renk katmış olan Megumi Hayashibara ve Toru Furuya var. Konu olarak, evvelden söylemek gerekirse tema olarak Christopher Nolan’ın son dönemde çektiği ve herkes tarafından beğenilen “Inception” filmiyle aynı. Rüyalarda gezinen ve insanların psikolojik sorunlarına rüyaları vasıtasıyla deva bulmayan çalışan bir grup bilim insanın ürettikleri aletler bir gün çalınır ve çalınmayla birlikte aklını yitirenler, ölümler ortaya çıkar. Burada bu terör olayının önüne geçmek yine aleti üreten bilim insanlarına düşer. Eğlenceli, hareketli ve renkli bir film. Anime sevenler için kesinlikle tavsiyedir. Keyifli seyirler dilerim.
